CHILD SAFETY & SECURITY
Your child's safety at school is very important to us. As part of the Bay City Public Schools and Bay-Arenac Intermediate School District, procedural safe guards have been established with guidance from the Federal Emergancy Management Agency (FEMA), to promote a safe and secure school environment.
No emergency situation or hazard is ever the same, however we do conduct drills to promote our established safety plans by training staff and students on how to respond during safety related events. Each year we conduct (6) fire and evacuation drills, (2) severe weather drills and (2) crisis drills. If you are at the school during a drill, it is expected that everyone particpates in the drill.
For school security purposes, all exterior doors are locked except the main entrance during the school day. Please do not place our students or staff in uncomfortable postions by knocking on locked doors to gain access to the school. We are not being rude, but we will not open doors not designated for regular public access. Upon arrival at the school, please check-in at the main office prior to conducting any school related business.
