About me:
Hi! My name is Lynn Kidwell. This is my fourth year as Curriculum Coach at Hampton Elementary. In addition to coaching teachers, I am also an intervention teacher for all students. I love being with the students. Previous to being a Coach I was a Special Education teacher at Kolb Elementary in Bay City. I have been with the district for 20 years.
I was born and raised in Illinois. My father and grandfather were my mentors and instilled in me the love for teaching. I went to Valparaiso University where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. My graduate education was at Eastern Illinois University where I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education.
I met my husband Jack 30 years ago. We have two sons, Jonathan and Jeffrey, and one daughter-in-law, Meghan. Jonathan is a Physical Education teacher in Texas, Meghan is in marketing for a tea company in Texas, and Jeff is a junior at CMU with a focus on Mechanical Engineering. As a family, we enjoy traveling, participating in church activities, snow skiing, watching old movies, cooking new foods, and board/card games.
Throughout my career, I have taught special education students in grades K-5with a variety of disabilities. My passion is working with students who struggle with learning. I look forward to working with each one of our students at Hampton to help them achieve their potential.
